2025 Runner Results

The annual Braelynn Peteete Heart Walk will take place on October 5, 2025. The Walk is a fund raiser for the Braelynn Peteete Scholarship Fund. Braelynn was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and classmate who left this world unexpectedly, at the age of 8, on October 24, 2021.

Daughter of James and Becky Peteete, Braelynn was a second grader at Green Bank Elementary/Middle School. She was a beautiful, fun, outgoing and vivacious little girl who was full of life. She loved to read, cheerleading and spending time with her family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, piercing blue eyes and loving personality. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

Help us honor Braelynn’s memory by joining our Heart Walk/Run in person at Green Bank Elementary Middle School on October 5^th or virtually from wherever you live.

The Walk/Run starts and ends at the Green Bank Elementary Middle School. The walk is a 1.5mile loop, with three water/activity stations along the route. Everyone is encouraged to finish the loop, but is welcome to come and walk as far as you wish. The run is the same route, but the route is run twice (5k total). A map of the route is available here.

There will water available along the course, and snacks at the start and end of the event. We will also have raffle at the end of the walk, and all walk/run participants will receive free tickets (the farther you walk, the more tickets you receive!) .

Finally, we encourage all participants to dress up like one of Braelynn’s favorite things: a cheerleader, a witch, green tutus, anything green, she loved 70’s outfits, Frozen, Moana,  and anything Disney. Prizes for the best costumes will be awarded.
